Alice Coulam is a jazz and Big Band singer based in London. Before moving south, Alice became very well-known on the Northern jazz scene having worked in Leeds, Sheffield and Manchester for a number of years. She has worked with many talented and well-established musicians regularly appearing with the Andy Colerton trio, the Steve Moore trio, the Manchester Jazz Collective and the Southside Jazz Band. In addition to this she has worked with the Brian Dee trio, Alan Barnes, the Rodger Heeley Trio, the Len Phillips Big Band and recorded backing vocals for Richard Hawley’s album Low Edges. Alice started Big Band singing a couple of years ago and now sings for several UK big bands including the Nick Ross Orchestra (alongside Matthew Ford and Jez Unwin), the Swing Shift Big Band and occasionally with the John Miller Orchestra. She performs “Blue Moon” on the newly released Nick Ross Orchestra album, “My FavouriteThings”. Recent performances include the 'Stables Bar' in Wavendon and 'Her Majesty's Theatre' in London.

Alongside performing around the jazz scene, Alice is also experienced in providing musical entertainment for occasions such as weddings, dinners, balls and corporate events having worked for a number of years with several successful function bands. She can provide anything from a duo up to a sextet depending on whether you require light dinner music or lively swing dance music.
Alice’s main influences include Anita O’Day, Peggy Lee, Nat King Cole, Sarah Vaughan and Nina Simone.
